BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION FOR LEASING
BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION FOR LEASING is a legal entity – a non-profit-making association. The Association was established through merging of the non-profit-making associations “BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION OF THE LEASING COMPANIES” and “BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE LEASING BUSINESS”. The Association is a voluntarily, non-political, non-governmental and non-religious organization. The founders of the Association are guided by their willingness to join efforts for protection of interests of all companies carrying out leasing activities, for promotion of leasing, and for encouragement of leasing activities in the Republic of Bulgaria, by recognition of the principles of equality of all market participants and of fair competition.
The main aims and goals of the Bulgarian Association for Leasing are:
• Improving of the Bulgarian commercial and tax legislation concerning the leasing activities;
• Improving of the competitiveness of the Bulgarian leasing industry through creating of competitive advantages of the leasing as financing product;
• Promoting of fair competition practices on the Bulgarian leasing market;
• Collecting and publishing of quantitative data on the Bulgarian leasing market;
• Increasing of the awareness of the Bulgarian business community and consumers on issues related to leasing products and activities;
• Participation in international leasing organizations and forums.
One of the main aims of BAL is collecting and publishing of quantitative data of the Bulgarian leasing market. The published Statistics for the period 2001 – 2011 are result of market surveys of BAL and summarized data from the statistical reporting of the leasing companies to BNB. The surveys are incomplete due to the fact that during the periods different number of companies have participated and submitted data. The participants have not verified the submitted data with financial reports.
The Association has 20 Members, who are shareholders of more than 80% of the all Bulgarian Leasing Market. The Association is a Member of Leas Europe.
